The Jesus Prayer Strategy

This is taken from Charles and Annette Capps book God's Creative Power. Charles Capps presents a unique view on the power in God's Word, and in Jesus' Name for everyday living.

First of all, becoming a Christian is not a complicated strategy. In Jesus' own words, John 3:16 states "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." The first step:  only believe in Jesus. Others may want to add more legalistic actions to this simple first step, not me. Only believe.

John 3:17 continues with an affirmation! "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." What? No condemnation? Only salvation? Truth in the Word - Jesus came to save us from ourselves, our sinful, wicked natures. We can argue the philosophy from now until the cows come home, but this evil nature is so apparent in the world - just watch the evening news!

So what is this Jesus prayer strategy? This is taken from page 17 of God's Creative Power. Charles Capps states Jesus approach "... caused Him to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil. ..."

1. Jesus spent much time in prayer. He never prayed the problem, He prayed the answer.  What God said is the answer. Pray the answer.

2. Jesus spoke accurate, never crooked speech. His conversation consisted of what God said. Speak what God says in His Word. (The Bible contains answers to all of life's problems. Bible Answers To Life

3. Jesus always spoke the end results, not the problem. He did not confess the current circumstances, he spoke the desired results. Speak the desired results in alignment with God's Word. (See Bible Answers To Life)

4. Jesus used the written Word to defeat Satan (evil). God's Word is our defense, and weapon against evil,

There it is! Some might see living a Christian life as 'mamby-pamby'. Not so when we use the Jesus Prayer Strategy. We can change the world.
