A Small White Flower

My inspiration for this painting came from the Summer Phlox planted in our front garden. Our late sister Gloria (May 14, 2019) helped plant these besides our hens and chickens. Each year since the phlox has blossomed and grown.

This painting is a watercolor on cotton paper with white gouache. The brushes used are goat hair, available from Frank Clarke's Simply Painting with his watercolor paints.

The undertone is an off yellow color. The tones of the painting progress from light to dark, with the flower petals in white gouache, and the center stamen in watercolor red.

This painting is available as a print on ArtPal, or directly from us.
